Hyundai Sonata Hood Hinges for 2018–2019: Smooth, Reliable Lids Opening
In the daily flow of driving, the hood is more than a cover; it’s the gateway to your engine bay. These hinges bring a balanced blend of resistance and ease, letting you lift and lower the hood with confidence. The left and right hinges for the 2018–2019 Sonata are engineered to align perfectly with the factory mounting points, so you won’t wrestle with misalignment or stubborn operation. They’re built to handle the vibrations of city streets and the longer stretches of highway, providing steady, predictable movement every time you check fluids or top up with coolant.
Product Features
- The left hinge (79110-C2000) and the right hinge (79120-C2000) pair up to restore the original hood action, giving you consistent resistance as you open and close the bonnet, just like the day you bought the car new.
- Precision pin and joint construction reduces play over time, helping maintain hood alignment and preventing the dreaded hood misfit that can appear after rough roads or quick weather changes.
- corrosion-resistant surface treatment helps them withstand the salty air and humidity common in coastal regions, while keeping the hinge mounting points clean for smooth operation.
- OEM-backed compatibility means straightforward installation for technicians and ambitious DIYers, with fewer surprises during the swap process.
Compatibility Information
These hinges are specified for Hyundai Sonata models launched in 2018 and 2019. The left hinge is cataloged under part number 79110-C2000, while the right hinge carries 79120-C2000. This pairing matches the original design, ensuring proper hood movement, alignment with the radiator support, and secure attachment to the firewall. If your Sonata shows signs of hood sagging, creaking, or uneven gaps along the hood edge, this left-right set can address those issues by restoring the intended geometry.
Why Choose This Part?
There’s a practical truth behind every hinge: if it doesn’t move right, the whole front end feels off. These hinges bring back the confidence you expect when you reach for the hood release or need quick access to the engine bay on a roadside stop. The fixtures are chosen for their stiffness and endurance, resisting deformation from repeated opening cycles, temperature swings, and road salt. In real-world terms, that means fewer adjustments, fewer squeaks, and a hood that sits evenly at rest—every time.

Built for Real Roads and Real Weather
Hoods and their hinges live in a harsh environment: heat in the summer, cool nights in the desert, sudden rain showers, and the occasional accidental bump from a shopping mall curb. The alloy used for these hinges is chosen to resist bending and fatigue, allowing consistent motion even after thousands of open-close cycles. The latch area remains secure, which helps prevent hood flutter at highway speeds. If you’re planning a long trip across varied terrain, you’ll notice how dependable the hood feels under continuous use.
Product Features
- The hinge arms are shaped to minimize binding when opening with the hood propped or partially raised, maintaining smooth motion regardless of the hood’s height.
- Factory-grade hardware ensures proper thread engagement, reducing the risk of stripping during installation.
- Low-friction surfaces on pivot points reduce stiffness and make the hood feel lighter when you lift it.
- Each hinge is inspected for warpage and meets durability standards that matter for daily drivers and long-distance travelers alike.
Compatibility Information
The product is specifically matched to Hyundai Sonata sedans from the 2018 and 2019 model years. The left hinge uses part number 79110-C2000 and the right hinge uses 79120-C2000. These components align with the hood’s original stopping points and the radiator support structure, ensuring doors and panels line up correctly after installation. As with all body hardware, verify your VIN and confirm the part numbers before purchase to guarantee a precise fit.
Why Choose This Part?
Durability isn’t just about metal strength; it’s about predictable performance across seasons and miles. These hinges resist rust and flexing, maintaining proper hood alignment longer than generic alternatives. If you’ve noticed the hood rising unevenly or creating gaps along the edge, a fresh hinge set can restore a snug, even finish without the need for additional adjustments. Reliability matters when your vehicle spends time in hot, dusty environments or in areas with rough roads where every component endures extra vibrations.
